Overview
This briefing session is intended for those who are considering using the mdx II system. We will introduce the system overview, features, usage, and application procedures.
This is an ideal session for those planning to utilize large-scale data processing, AI, or machine learning.
What is mdx II?
“mdx II” is a virtual server-based computing platform operated by the Data-Driven Society Collaboration Platform Organization and installed at the University of Osaka.
It is based on OpenStack and enables flexible environment construction using virtual machines. In addition to supercomputer-like use cases, it can also be used for building data platforms, AI training, and many other purposes. For more details, please refer to this page.
This service is ideal for those with the following needs:
- Want to perform full-scale computation using high-performance computing resources
- Lack the space or budget to install a server in the laboratory
- Need to secure a computing environment only for a short period for research or classes
- Wish to conduct research combining computation and web applications
