The Research Organization for Information Science and Technology (RIST), a Registered Institution for Facilities Use Promotion, announced the call for proposals on September 3, 2026, for research projects using the HPCI System including the supercomputer Fugaku, as the first of the twice-yearly calls (Period-A). The project period is one year from April 2027.
Beginning in FY2027, the priority areas for Fugaku General Access projects will be revised. In addition, starting with Period-A of FY2026, the eligibility requirements for Junior Researchers projects were changed to “persons who are 39 years of age or younger at the start of the project, or who are within eight years of receiving their doctoral degree.”
